Italy to issue 10,500 work visas for Pakistan’s skilled workers,says Mohsin Naqi
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi informed his Italian counterpart about Pakistan's effective measures to prevent illegal immigration.


Islamabad:Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi has said that ten thousand and five hundred work visas will be issued for Pakistan's skilled labour force to promote legal migration.
He made the announcement during a meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Rome.
The Italian Interior Minister said the two countries will enhance mutual cooperation to promote legal migration.
Matteo Piantedosi said holders of Pakistani diplomatic passports will be exempt from Italy's visa requirements.
The Italian Interior Minister expressed readiness to expand cooperation with Pakistan in areas of mutual interest.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in combating drug trafficking, human smuggling and terrorism.
Both Interior Ministers praised the efforts taken to curb illegal immigration and human trafficking.

He said there has been significant reduction in illegal immigration due to strict surveillance at airports and sea borders.
The Italian Interior Minister said the successes of Pakistani institutions in preventing illegal immigration, human trafficking and drug trafficking are commendable.
