T20 World Cup: Pakistan easily defeats USA by 32 runs

Colombo: In a group match of the T20 World Cup, Pakistan avenged their 2024 defeat by defeating the USA by 32 runs.

In the match played in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the USA, chasing Pakistan's target of 190 runs, could only manage 158 runs for 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, giving Pakistan a 32-run victory.

Shubham Ranjane was the top scorer for the USA with 51 runs. Shayan Jahangir scored 49, Milind Kumar 29, Andre House 13, Harmit Singh 6, captain Monank Patel 3, while Mohammad Mohsin and Sanjay Krishnamurthy were dismissed for 0 runs each.

For Pakistan, Usman Tariq took 3 wickets, Shadab Khan 2, while Mohammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, and Shaheen Shah Afridi each took 1 wicket.

Earlier, Pakistan started their innings with Saeem Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan. Saeem Ayub was dismissed for 19 runs, while Sahibzada Farhan played a responsible knock, scoring a brilliant 73 runs.

Pakistan's captain, Salman Ali Agha, was out for just 1 run, while star batsman Babar Azam scored 46 runs. Shadab Khan made 30, Mohammad Nawaz 5, Shaheen Afridi 9, Faheem Ashraf 1, and Usman Khan was dismissed for 0 runs.

For the USA, Shedley Van Salkuk took 4 wickets, while Mohammad Mohsin, Saurabh Netralakar, and Harmit Singh each took 1 wicket.
