Over 200 Afghan Taliban, Khawarij killed; 23 Pak Army soldiers martyred: ISPR
At least 29 soldiers also suffered injuries in crossfire

Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Army, in its retaliatory operations, killed more than 200 Afghan Taliban fighters and foreign elements during an exchange of fire at the Pak-Afghan Border, the military's media wing said on Sunday.
As many as 23 brave soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom, and 29 sustained injuries during the exchange of fire, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
The valiant sons of the nation have given a decisive and effective response to the unprovoked attacks launched by Afghan Taliban militants on Pakistan.
ISPR stated that on the night between October 11 and 12, Afghan Taliban militants and Indian-sponsored “Khariji” insurgents carried out unprovoked aggression along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The Pakistan Army inflicted heavy human and material losses on the enemy.
Following the unprovoked assault along the Pak-Afghan border, Pakistan’s armed forces delivered a strong and fitting response to the cowardly attacks. Verified reports confirm that over 200 Afghan Taliban and foreign militants were killed.
The statement further added that 23 soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom and 29 were injured in the exchange of fire. The unprovoked attack was jointly carried out by the Afghan Taliban and the Indian-sponsored Khariji insurgents.
According to ISPR, all possible measures were taken to ensure the safety of civilian lives and to prevent unnecessary damage. A large number of Afghan Taliban and foreign militants were also wounded in Pakistan’s retaliatory strikes.
It was further revealed that the Pakistan Army successfully captured 21 Afghan positions during the counteroffensive.
According to state media, the ISPR stated that the actions carried out by the Khawarij insurgents and the Afghan Taliban in border regions were aimed at creating instability, inflicting damage, and paving the way for terrorism — all in furtherance of the Khawarij’s malicious designs.

The statement said that, exercising the right to self-defence, Pakistan’s vigilant armed forces decisively repelled the attacks along the entire border, inflicting heavy casualties on Taliban forces and their affiliated Khawarij elements.
It further added that precision strikes, targeted assaults, and ground operations were conducted against Taliban camps, posts, terrorist training facilities, and supporting networks operating from within Afghan territory — particularly those linked to Fitnat-ul-Khawarij (FAK), Fitnat-ul-Hindustan, and ISKP/Daesh. Every possible precaution was taken to ensure the safety of civilian populations and to avoid collateral damage.
According to ISPR, as a result of these sustained operations, multiple Taliban positions across the border belt were destroyed, 21 enemy posts on the Afghan side were temporarily secured, and several terrorist training camps used for planning and executing attacks against Pakistan were completely eliminated.
