Victim had filed a case for annulment of marriage


Rahim Yar Khan: A woman dies of burns after her husband allegedly threw acid on her, his children, and relatives after she filed a case for annulment of the marriage.
The woman succumbed to her injuries from the acid burns, while her young daughter and two other family members were critically injured.
According to police, the incident took place in the Taranda Muhammad Panah area, where the accused, along with his accomplices, stormed into his in-laws’ house and threw acid on his wife and children before fleeing.
The victim’s wife later died during treatment, while his 4-year-old daughter and 70-year-old aunt sustained severe injuries.
Police confirmed that the injured were shifted to Bahawalpur Hospital, where doctors reported that nearly 70 per cent of the women’s and child’s bodies and faces had been burned. Raids are underway to arrest the suspect.
