Prices of petroleum products may increase by Rs1.97 to Rs4.65 per liter


Islamabad: The prices of petroleum products and electricity are likely to increase in Pakistan.
According to the details, the prices of petroleum products are expected to increase again from October 1.
According to the oil industry, the prices of petroleum products may increase by Rs1.97 to Rs4.65 per liter.
According to a media report, petrol may become expensive by Rs1.97 per liter, while high-speed diesel is likely to become expensive by Rs2.48 per liter.
Light diesel oil may become expensive by Rs1.76 per liter, while the price of kerosene is expected to increase by Rs4.65 per liter.
OGRA will send a summary of the prices to the Ministry of Finance through the Petroleum Division. The new prices will be announced after the final approval of the Prime Minister.
Earlier on September 16, the government did not change the price of petrol, while the price of high-speed diesel was increased by Rs2.78 per liter.
Electricity
On the other hand, electricity is likely to become expensive in the country for a month.
Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested for fuel price adjustment for August, which will be heard by NEPRA today.
CPPA had requested an increase of Rs0.19 per unit in fuel price adjustment for August. According to CPPA, 102.94 billion units were supplied to the discos in August.
The petition states that the total electricity production in August was Rs7.50 per unit as against Rs7.31 per unit.
According to CPPA, the cost of electricity generation from local coal was Rs12.01 per unit, while the cost of electricity generation from imported coal was Rs14.07 per unit.
In the application, NEPRA was informed that the cost of electricity generation from furnace ice was Rs33 and electricity generation from gas was Rs13.43 per unit, while the cost of electricity generation from LNG was Rs21.73 per unit.
The NEPRA will decide today on the request of CPPA for an increase in per unit price under the fuel price adjustment.
