Crackdown on illegal hunting: Blue bull rescued, falcon hunters fined in Punjab
A total of 57 hunters were fined, and penalties exceeding Rs1.15 million were imposed

Lahore: Crackdowns against the illegal hunting and trade of wildlife continue across Punjab.
During operations conducted in Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Salt Range, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan regions, authorities confiscated 62 quail and falcon netting gears. A total of 57 hunters were fined, and penalties exceeding Rs1.15 million were imposed.
According to a spokesperson, in Bahawalpur Division, 25 netting gears were seized, 12 hunters were fined Rs666,000, and dozens of quails were released back into the wild. Additionally, a baby nilgai (blue bull) was also rescued.
In Lahore Region, two hunting parties were fined Rs290,000. In Faisalabad, one person was fined Rs52,000 for hunting ducks, and in Gujrat, four hunters were fined Rs70,000.
In other operations, more than 60 gears were recovered in Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan, a python was rescued and released into the wild in Narowal, and action was taken against illegal falcon hunting in Jhelum.
