Total of Rs215 million worth of gold has been embezzled


Gujranwala: It has been revealed that real gold kept in bank lockers was being exchanged for fake gold. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Gujranwala zone has arrested the main accused on the identification of the previously arrested accused.
According to FIA officials, the accused Saqib Ali is the mastermind of the said gang, who, along with the bank staff, kept fake gold instead of real gold.
FIA officials have said that the accused, in collusion with other accomplices, has embezzled gold worth millions. A total of Rs215 million worth of gold has been embezzled.
Officials say that the FIA has already arrested six other accomplices of the accused, and the main accused, Saqib Ali, has been arrested on the identification of the arrested accused.
FIA officials further say that the number of people arrested in this entire case has reached seven, while the search for the other accused is underway.
Four cases have been registered against the accused, who has been absconding for the past several weeks. Special raid teams have been formed to arrest the suspects.
