Accused confessed and said, “Sir! I made a mistake”


Islamabad: The accused Hassan Zahid, who was arrested in the case of the alleged kidnapping and extortion of TikToker Samiya Hijab, confessed to the crime in the District and Sessions Courts in Islamabad.
Islamabad Police presented the arrested accused Hassan Zahid in the court of Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mahmood Chaudhry in the District and Sessions Courts.
The judge asked the accused why he made these threats and why he kidnapped her. The accused confessed and said, “Sir! I made a mistake”.
The police, while requesting an eight-day physical remand of the accused, took the position that the vehicle, pistol, and cash should be recovered from the accused.
The court handed over the accused to the police on a five-day physical remand.
It is pertinent to note that a case was registered against the accused Hassan Zahid yesterday at Shalimar police station in Islamabad for harassing a woman and threatening to kill her.
The victim had alleged in the First Information Report (FIR) that the accused Hassan Zahid had been stalking her for several days and repeatedly pressured her by giving her gifts.
Well-known TikToker Samiya Hijab further told the police that on August 31 at 6:30pm, the accused tried to forcefully take her out of the house and openly threatened to kill her, along with taking revenge.
The victim had also uploaded the CCTV footage on her social media account in this regard, which she handed over to the police. The police have registered a case and started an investigation.
