COVID: Pakistan records over 4,000 cases for first time since May

Islamabad: The coronavirus situation is worsening in Pakistan with each passing day as country on Wednesday reported over 4,000 new COVID-19 cases for second consecutive day as the virus keeps spreading across the country, official data showed.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,119 cases of coronavirus were reported while 46 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 23,133.

The total number of confirmed cases reached to 1,015,827.

As many as 935,742 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,898 critical cases.

Punjab                                                                                     

The number of patients swelled to 354,312 in the province with 10,978 causalities.

Sindh

The number of infections has surged to 371,762 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,860.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The confirmed cases have surged to 142,400 in the province with 4,428 casualties.

Balochistan

There are 29,861 confirmed cases while 326 patients have died from the infection so far.

AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan

There are 23,370 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 618. On the other hand, there are 7,896 cases in GB with 127 coronavirus deaths.

Islamabad

There are 86,226 cases in the capital city while 796 people have lost their lives.
