PM approves pay raise for govt employees following police, protestors clash
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved increase in salaries of government employees, a day after police and protesters clashed in Islamabad's Red Zone.

According to GNN, members of government committee who were negotiating with representatives of government employees met with Prime Minister today to brief him on the overall situation.
A notification of salary increase will be issued after approval from cabinet.
The officials of finance ministry were also present on occasion and briefed PM on the burden on the national exchequer due to increase in salaries.
Among those who met Prime Minister include Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak, Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan.
A day earlier, talks between government committee and representatives of the federal government employees took place at Pervez Khattak's house in which government agreed to raise salaries.
The news was also confirmed by Sheikh Rasheed confirmed on Twitter. He also instructed Islamabad administration to release all arrested employees.

Islamabad’s Secretariat Chowk turned into war-zone yesterday following clashes between police and government employees who were staging a demonstration against non-increase in salaries.
The security officers also arrested several leaders of the protesters from outside the secretariat in order to contain the protest.
The local administration blocked several roads in Federal Capital by placing containers.
