Recent rains have led to more insects near Karachi Airport, attracting large flocks of birds

(Web Desk): Two aircraft narrowly escaped major accidents at Karachi Airport after bird strikes occurred in quick succession involving two different airlines.
According to sources, a bird collided with a Turkish Airlines plane during its landing at Karachi Airport. The flight was carrying over 150 passengers. The pilot immediately reported the bird strike to Air Traffic Control (ATC).
Shortly after the Turkish Airlines incident, a Fly Jinnah aircraft also struck a bird while landing. The flight was arriving in Karachi from Lahore and had more than 150 passengers on board. The captain of the Fly Jinnah flight also informed ATC of the bird strike.
It is worth noting that the recent rains have caused an increase in insects around the Karachi Airport area, which has in turn attracted a large number of birds.
In response to the incidents, the Director General of the Airport Authority has ordered immediate fumigation at Karachi Airport and the deployment of additional bird shooters.
Birds pose a serious threat to aircraft and can potentially lead to catastrophic accidents.
