Lahore: Pakistan Railways has increased the fares of express, freight trains, and saloons.
According to a railway spokesperson, the fares of express trains and saloons have been increased by 3 percent, while the fares of freight trains have been increased by 4 percent.
The spokesperson said that a formal notification of the increase in fares has been issued, which will be effective from June 20, 2025.
According to railway officials, the increase aims to balance the operational costs of the railways and increase resources for improving services.
