In the previous fiscal year, Rs2,122 billion was allocated for defence

Islamabad: The federal government has presented a budget exceeding Rs17.5 trillion (Rs17,573 billion) in the National Assembly.
According to the budget document, Rs2,550 billion has been allocated for defence in the fiscal year 2025-26, marking a 20% increase. In the previous fiscal year, Rs2,122 billion was allocated for defence.
During his budget speech in the National Assembly, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb stated that the security situation in the country is facing threats, and the armed forces have rendered commendable services for the protection of borders.
The Finance Minister also proposed a Special Relief Allowance for officers, soldiers, and JCOs of the armed forces in recognition of their services. These expenses will be met from the defence budget allocated for the fiscal year 2025-26.
