Six killed as gas cylinder explodes in Mardan

Mardan: A gas cylinder exploded in Mardan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, causing the roof of a two-storey house to collapse, killing six people and injuring two others.

According to rescue officials, a two-storey house collapsed due to a gas explosion in the Irum Colony area of ​​Mardan.

The Rescue 1122 control room received information about the alleged explosion inside a house in Irum Colony. Rescue 1122 Disaster, Firefighters, and Medical teams reached the spot.

Deputy Commissioner Mardan Azmatullah Wazir, District Emergency Officer Syed Shoaib Mansoor, and Assistant Commissioner Junaid Khalid were present at the scene of the rescue operations.

The deceased include 36-year-old Fawad, his wife, his children, 7-year-old Rayan and 4-year-old Aiza, 25-year-old Shah Fahad, and 8-year-old Tuba. The injured include 5-year-old Aisha and 5-year-old Dua.

More than 100 personnel of Rescue 1122 participated in the operation and completed it in 7 hours, removing all the dead and injured and transferring them to MMC.
