3 percent disparity allowance for grades 1 to 16 employees is proposed

Islamabad: The government has prepared good news for government employees in the budget for the financial year 2025-26.
According to media reports, the budget has proposed a 10 percent increase in salaries and pensions, while the ad hoc allowance of the year 2022 has also been recommended to be merged with the basic salary.
In addition, a proposal for a 3 percent disparity allowance for employees in grades 1 to 16 and a 15 percent increase in salaries for officers in grades 17 to 22 is under consideration.
It is also reported that the government is considering presenting a special relief package for government employees to reduce inflationary pressures.
These proposals will be made part of the budget speech after final approval by the Ministry of Finance. Government employees’ organizations have welcomed the proposed increase and have also demanded further improvements.
It is pertinent to note that the upcoming budget will be presented in the National Assembly in a few days, in which policy measures are also expected for other important sectors.
