Pakistan Army vows to defend sovereignty, crush India-backed proxies

Rawalpindi: Field Marshal Asim Munir, in his address during the 270th Corps Commanders Conference, paid tribute to the unwavering support of the Pakistani people, stating that Pakistani citizens are the true source of the military's strength.

He emphasized the armed forces' firm resolve to live up to the nation's trust and expectations in their collective struggle against external aggression, terrorism, and extremism.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the conference, chaired by Field Marshal Asim Munir, began with prayers for the martyrs of Operation “Bunyan Marsous” and the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Khuzdar, Balochistan.

Participants of the conference condemned the brutal attack in Khuzdar, describing it as an act carried out by India-backed proxies. The attack claimed the lives of four innocent children and two civilians. The commanders called the deliberate targeting of unarmed civilians, especially children, a gross and condemnable violation of humanitarian principles and international laws.

The forum paid tribute to the martyrs of the “Battle of Truth” who sacrificed their lives during unprovoked Indian aggression. It reiterated that the sacrifices of the martyrs would not go in vain and that the protection of Pakistani citizens remains the military’s foremost priority.

ISPR stated that the forum acknowledged Field Marshal Asim Munir’s strategic vision, unwavering leadership, and significant contributions to national defense, extending their congratulations on his elevation to Field Marshal.

The forum conducted a comprehensive review of internal and external security challenges and praised the successful culmination of Operation “Bunyan Marsous,” calling it a decisive phase in the Battle of Truth.

The participants also commended the professionalism, unity, high morale of the armed forces, and the steadfast support of the nation. Special appreciation was extended to Pakistani media and “information warriors” for standing by the state against Indian propaganda, fake news, and war hysteria. The forum praised the media for presenting facts accurately and bolstering public confidence while countering misinformation.

The commanders appreciated the spirit and active participation of Pakistani youth, whose patriotism and enthusiasm not only reflected the national spirit but also effectively communicated the national narrative.

The forum saluted the political leadership for its foresight, exemplary conduct during the Battle of Truth, and its resolute leadership in guiding the nation. The military’s successful response to Indian aggression was credited to these vital elements.

Participants described Pakistan’s timely and effective defensive response as exemplary and a reflection of a sound strategic doctrine. They reaffirmed their commitment to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, pledging full operational preparedness to counter any external aggression and protect national interests.

The commanders vowed to thwart any attempts to pressure Pakistan through force or coercive tactics. They reiterated their determination to eliminate Indian-backed terrorist proxies active in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa using all available resources.

The forum noted that, following the failed aggression disguised under the Pulwama incident, India is now implementing a covert agenda to destabilize Pakistan. While India presents itself as a victim of terrorism, in reality, it is a perpetrator and a source of regional instability.

Commanders highlighted that using proxies to undermine Pakistan’s stability has long been India's tactic. However, Pakistan will never allow its peace to be compromised by externally sponsored terrorism.

They pledged that the armed forces, intelligence agencies, and law enforcement institutions will confront terrorist proxies and their facilitators with unity and unwavering resolve. Elements operating under foreign patronage to create an atmosphere of fear and chaos will be decisively eliminated through national resolve and full capability.

The forum reviewed the security situation at the eastern border and expressed serious concern over ongoing and grave human rights violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir. It strongly condemned India’s provocative actions, describing them as a response to natural local resistance, and called for urgent and effective intervention by the international community to ensure lasting peace in the region.

The commanders reaffirmed unwavering diplomatic, political, moral, and humanitarian support for the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination.

The Army Chief praised the high morale, exceptional operational preparedness, and professionalism of all ranks, along with the unwavering support of the Pakistani people. He attributed recent successes to the grace of Almighty Allah and stressed the need for the highest level of operational readiness in light of prevailing security threats.

At the conclusion of the conference, Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed confidence in the military’s pivotal role in ensuring internal stability and securing national borders, commending the steps taken toward these goals.

He reiterated that the people of Pakistan are the true source of strength for the armed forces and reaffirmed the commitment to meet their trust and expectations in the ongoing struggle against external aggression, terrorism, and extremism.
