Israel preparing strike on Iran’s nuclear sites: US intel

(Web Desk): US officials have revealed intelligence suggesting that Israel is preparing for a potential strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

According to a report by the news outlet Al Arabiya, citing U.S. broadcaster CNN, American sources say new intelligence indicates that Israel is making preparations to attack Iran’s nuclear sites.

However, officials clarified that it remains unclear whether the Israeli leadership has made a final decision regarding such a strike. According to the report, an Israeli source told CNN that Israel would not accept a “flawed deal” with Tehran and is preparing to act alone if necessary.

This development comes at a time when U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly working toward a new nuclear agreement with Iran. American officials noted that if Israel does carry out an attack, it would represent a major divergence from Trump’s diplomatic strategy and could spark large-scale conflict in the Middle East.

The U.S. officials also stated that there is currently no concrete evidence that Israeli leadership has taken final steps toward launching an attack. There is also division within the U.S. administration over whether Israel would actually go so far. Ultimately, the decision may depend on how Israel perceives the ongoing U.S.-Iran nuclear negotiations.

Meanwhile, three sources from Tehran stated that if current efforts to resolve the nuclear standoff fail, Iran has no clear alternative plan. Talks between Iran and the U.S. have stalled due to tensions over uranium enrichment.

The sources said Iran might consider turning to China and Russia as alternatives. However, this plan appears weak, as China is locked in a trade war with the U.S., and Russia remains entangled in the Ukraine conflict.

A senior Iranian official noted that the fallback strategy is to continue the approach taken before negotiations began. Iran, he said, will avoid escalating tensions but remains prepared to defend itself. Strengthening ties with allies like Russia and China is also a key element of this strategy.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei recently stated through state media that the U.S. demand for Tehran to halt uranium enrichment is “excessively insulting.”
