Weather has been predicted to remain hot and dry in most parts


Lahore: A severe heat wave is continuing across the country, while most of the plains will remain affected by the intensity of the weather and under the grip of heat waves for the next four days.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in the southern parts of the country, especially South Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan, is likely to be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius higher than normal during the day, while the temperature in the upper and central areas of Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and central and upper Punjab may be 5 to 7 degrees Celsius higher than normal.
The maximum temperature in Lahore is likely to reach 43 degrees Celsius today. Similarly, it is likely to reach 45 degrees in Bahawalpur, 47 degrees in DG Khan, 44 degrees in Multan, 45 degrees in Sargodha, and 40 degrees in Rawalpindi.
Similarly, the maximum temperature in Karachi is likely to reach 36 degrees, in Hyderabad 42 degrees, in Sukkur 45 degrees, and Nawabshah 46 degrees.
On the other hand, in Balochistan, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 38 degrees Celsius in Quetta, 36 degrees Celsius in Gwadar, and 48 degrees Celsius in Sibi today. Similarly, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 44 degrees Celsius in Peshawar, 41 degrees Celsius in Bannu, and 45 degrees Celsius in Dera Ismail Khan.
The maximum temperature in the federal capital Islamabad is expected to be 42 degrees Celsius, 36 degrees Celsius in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 30 degrees Celsius in Rawalakot.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather has been predicted to remain hot and dry in most parts of the country on May 22, while the intensity of the heat will be felt much more than usual in the plains.
Similarly, the weather will remain extremely hot and dry on Friday, May 23. However, rain with wind and thunder is expected at some places in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and adjacent hilly areas.
The heat is expected to increase further on Saturday and Sunday, and the weather will remain extremely hot and dry in most parts of the country. During these days, rain and thunderstorms have also been predicted at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, and Kashmir.
The Meteorological Department has directed the citizens to take precautionary measures. The public has been advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun, consume more water and beverages, and take precautions to protect children, the elderly, and the sick, especially from the heat.
