Monsoon: Relief for heat-stricken people as heavy rain batters Lahore, Karachi
Lahore/Karachi: The monsoon rain turned the weather pleasant and provided respite to people from hot, humid weather conditions in Lahore and Karachi on Monday.

According to details, the Punjab’s provincial capital received rainfall, a spell likely to persist till Thursday, said Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The Met Office has predicted more rain accompanied by thunderstorm in various cities of Punjab including Gujranwala, Mianwali, Zafarwal,Murredkay, Daska,Pind Dadan Khan and Kala Baagh.
In Sindh, heavy rain lashed Karachi resulting in power outages in different areas. Different areas of the metropolitan city from Sadar, Malir, Landhi, Steel Town, Gulshan Iqbal, Old City Area, Safoora and Sadar received light to heavy rainfall. The Met Office has predicted rain to continue for the next 24 hours. Moreover, weather will remain humid and cloudy in MirpurKhas, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Benazirabad and Sanghar.
Various parts of Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir also received heavy rain inundating the low-lying areas.
