A junior lawyer requested the court that since Rizwan Abbasi is busy in the Supreme Court, the court should schedule 11:30am to hear the appeals.


Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court Islamabad Monday adjourned the hearing on the appeals against the conviction of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Kahn and his wife Bushra Bibi in the illegal marriage case until the arrival of Khawar Manika's lawyer.
Sessions Judge Shah Rukh Arjamand heard the appeals against the punishment of founder PTI and Bushra Bibi in the Nikkah during Iddat case.
The learned counsel pleaded with the court that the senior counsel was on the way, to wait for him till 10 o'clock.
Judge Shahrukh Arjamand asked the assistant counsel, "Whose side are you on?" To which the learned counsel replied that I have appeared on behalf of the appellant.
Sessions Judge Shahrukh inquired as to who has come on behalf of the complainant.
On this occasion, the lawyer of the complainant Khawar Manika, Rizwan Abbasi, did not appear in the court, on which Sessions Judge Shahrukh Arjamand said that if no one appears, he will take a decision today.
A junior lawyer appeared on behalf of Manika's lawyer Raja Rizwan Abbasi, who requested the court that since Rizwan Abbasi is busy in the Supreme Court, the court should schedule 11:30am to hear the appeals.
Session Judge Shah Rukh Arjamand said that he has warned already, if Rizwan Abbasi does not come today, he will take a decision.
After the break, the hearing resumed and founder PTI's lawyer Salman Akram Raja, Bushra Bibi's lawyer Usman Gill appeared before the court, besides them, the newly appointed prosecutor Adnan Ali also appeared before the court. PTI leaders Omar Ayub and Khalid Khurshid also reached the court.
Even after the break in the hearing, Rizwan Abbasi, the lawyer of the complainant Khawar Manika, did not appear in the court.
Session Judge Shahrukh remarked that it is known that if Rizwan Abbasi does not appear, then he will take a decision.
On this, Salman Akram Raja said that Eid has passed, we also have cases in the Supreme Court.
Later, the judge said that they will wait until one o'clock, if he does not come during the court hours, the decision will be made and there is only about an hour left.
On this, Bushra Bibi's lawyer Usman Gul stated that today's action should be made a part of the court's order.
Later, the court adjourned the hearing till one o'clock on the appeals filed in the Iddat Nikah case.
