Tarar terms fake news on social media as ‘biggest challenge’
Federal Minister Tarar said: “The misinformation, disinformation and fake news are the problems of the world, these three things need to be controlled”.
Islamabad: Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that the biggest challenge on social media is fake news.
Zoe Ware, Political Consul of the British High Commission, met the Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar in which they discussed the promotion of Pakistan-UK relations and cooperation in the fields of media.
According to the statement issued after the meeting, cooperation in the fields of film and drama was also discussed between the Federal Minister and the Political Consul, while Miss Zoe Ware assured her support for the promotion of Pakistan-UK bilateral relations.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister Tarar said: “The misinformation, disinformation and fake news are the problems of the world, these three things need to be controlled”.
He stated the biggest challenge on social media is fake news, journalists should adopt the process of verification on social media. The whole world should prepare a code of conduct related to social media.
