Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Thursday said that it is welcome and need of time for everyone to come together to deal with economic challenges.
The meeting of the apex committee of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is underway.
Civil and military leadership participated in the meeting, Army Chief General Asim Munir is a special participant, while former Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and Caretaker Cabinet are also participating in the meeting.
The chief ministers of the four provinces Maryam Nawaz, Sarfaraz Bugti, Murad Ali Shah and Ali Amin Gandapur are participating in the meeting while the federal ministers are also part of the apex committee meeting.
In the meeting, a detailed briefing is being given to the members related to SIFC. The issues related to investment in the country will also be reviewed.
Speaking during the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that SIFC is an important platform which will be continued. The apex committee of SIFC has worked effectively even in the caretaker government.
Shehbaz Sharif stated: “This platform is very important for economic development and foreign investment, it is welcome and need of time for everyone to come together to deal with the economic challenges facing the country”.
He added that military leadership did extraordinary work in the success of this platform and promotion of foreign investment.
During the meeting, a briefing was also given by the former caretaker ministers on the measures taken during their tenure.
