Pakistan reports over 4,700 cases in single day as Covid-19 third wave intensifies
Islamabad: Pakistan on Saturday reported 4,723 new Covid-19 cases and 84 deaths, with authorities linking the uptick in numbers to the third wave of the deadly outbreak across the country.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,723 cases of coronavirus were reported while 84 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 14,697.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 682,888.
As many as 609,691 patients have recovered from the disease with 3,490 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 228,356 in the province with 6,523 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 266,173 in the province, while the death toll has reached 4,4506.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 90,262 in the province with 2,417 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 19,679 confirmed cases while 211 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 13,176 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached363. On the other hand, there are 5,045 cases in GB with 103coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 60,197 cases in the capital city while 574 people have lost their lives.
