Gujranwala: The number of Covid-19 cases in Punjab’s district of Gujranwala continues to rise as country experiences third ‘deadly’ wave.

According to details, the city has reported 872 cases and the district administration have imposed smart lockdown in more than 20 areas of amid a spike in infections.
All commercial activities have been banned in the city today as per the directions of the local administration; however, meat, milk, groceries and medical stores will remain open.
As per District Commissioner Gujranwala, strict action would be taken against those violating coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Moreover, there is a complete ban in place on all kinds of gatherings and schools, cinema halls, parks are also closed for two weeks.
Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus, which is said to be deadlier and more contagious.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 3,876 cases of coronavirus were reported while 42 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 13,799.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 623,135.
As many as 579,760 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,122 critical cases.
