Vehari: A dacoit was killed during a police encounter here on Tuesday.

According to details, an identified car opened fire on police check post. Police personnel chased the car and retaliated in the area of Karampur as a result of which one dacoit was killed while four others fled.
The killed dacoit has not been identified yet. Heavy weapons and lock-breaking tools recovered from vehicle.
A search operation is underway to arrest fugitive robbers.
