COVID-19 strikes back in Punjab
Lahore: The number of positive coronavirus cases has increased in Lahore; 546 people have fallen victim to the deadly virus while 30 people have died in Punjab.
According to a statement issued by Primary and Secondary Health Care, the COVID-19 outbreak is on the rise, with Lahore registering the highest number of 546 cases, confirmed cases of coronavirus in Punjab has jumped to 175,051 cases.
The spokesperson said that 6 cases were reported in Nankana, 4 in Kasur, 8 in Sheikhupura, 44 in Rawalpindi, 2 in Jhelum, 16 in Hafizabad and 16 in Gujranwala while 28 cases were reported in Sialkot, 1 in Narowal, 42 in Gujrat and 42 in Multan.
14 cases were reported in Khanewal, 2 in Vehari, 2 in Vehari, 56 in Faisalabad, 4 in Chiniot, 5 in Toba Tek Singh, 15 in Jhang and 11 in Rahim Yar Khan.
Similarly, 11 cases were reported in Sargodha, 2 in Mianwali, 1 in Bahawalnagar, 2 in Bahawalpur, 1 in Lodhran, 1 in Rajanpur, 7 in Dera Ghazi Khan, 11 in Sahiwal, 1 in Pakpattan and 1 in Okara.
The spokesman said there were 30 more deaths from the coronavirus in Punjab, bringing the total to 5,510.
Whereas, according to National Command and Control Center (NCOC), around 1,579 cases of coronavirus were reported while 52 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 13,128.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 587,014.
As many as 556,769 patients have recovered from the disease with 1,551 critical cases.
Sindh
The number of infection has surged to 257,089 in the province, whereas the province has reported 4,315 deaths.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have reached 71,490 while the death toll has surged to 2,058 in KPK.
Balochistan
There are 19,010 confirmed cases while 199 patients died of the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 10,022 coronavirus cases in AJK while the death toll has reached 296. On the other hand, there are 4,955 cases in GB with 102 deaths.
Islamabad
There are 43,901 cases in the capital city while 494 people have lost their lives.
