In an interview on SiriusXM's Radio Andy, Schwimmer shared that the upcoming HBO Max special, which will bring the core cast back together, will begin filming next month.

Speaking about it, David said, "it’s happening. Actually, in a little over a month I'm heading out to L.A".

The 54-year-old further stated, "So, finally, I mean, we figured out a way to film it safely and there's going to be a portion of it that we filmed outside because of, you know, for safety protocols,"

The actor is preparing to reunite with his old pals including Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry.

The HBO Max special will reunite the cast on the NBC comedy's original soundstage.

Friends is an American television sitcom, created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, which aired on NBC from September 22, 1994, to May 6, 2004, comprising ten seasons in total.

The sitcom's reunion was first announced in February 2020 by HBO Max and was scheduled to premiere in May, but was delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
