Govt to extract additional amount charged by pharmaceutical companies
Islamabad: Special Advisor to Prime Minister (PM) on information and broadcasting, Firdous Ashiq Awan, on Tuesday stated that federal government will take stern and immediate action against pharmaceutical companies over colossal hike in drug prices.

She made this announcement during presser here in Islamabad.

Awan went on to say that additional amount charged by pharmaceutical companies will be extracted and deposited in accounts of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal.

Awan told attendants that prices of the medicines will be brought down soon after consultation with all stakeholders.

The special advisor stated that government will curb menace of artificial inflation in the month of Ramazan.

Awan continued that incumbent government will expose huge embezzlement in LNG case.

Replying to a question, Awan stated that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s visit to Iran was important.

“Some misconceptions were being created between Iran and Pakistan and it was necessary to address them”, minister told reporters.

She stated that PM has taken federal cabinet into confidence on his two-day Iran visit.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said the Prime Minister directed all ministers to introduce policies in public interest and improve their performance in order to resolve the issues faced by public.
